Miscommunication is Hazardous to your Health

What is miscommunication?  How do you know that your message is being miscommunicated?

How can you communicate more effectively?

Miscommunication is the inability to communicate effectively. You will notice that your message is being miscommunicated because you will not be receiving the results/information that you have asked for.
When this occurs you may be faced with feelings of frustration, anger or become short tempered at the person you are communicating with.

You may feel that they aren’t listening to you, or they just ‘don’t get’ what you are asking them or feel that they don’t value what you are talking about.  Left untreated, miscommunication can cause serious health problems that aggravate your stress levels.

Almost all of your big problems in life will be accompanied by breakdown in communication, almost all problems and financial losses in companies are a result of poor communication or miscommunication.  Miscommunication is a major hurdle that many of you will deal with on a daily basis, unless you learn to communicate more effectively.

Determined to Succeed

Determined to Succeed

Let’s forget the New Years Eve resolutions because they generally don’t last longer than a

month.

What I want to focus on are the goals that you set at the start of every year that set the

benchmark for how you want your personal, career and business life to unfold.  If these

goals are not planned, structured and set in the correct format then you are not

necessarily setting yourself up to fail, but you are putting obstacles out there that may

not need to be there. To get the format correct and take everything into consideration

To get the format correct and take everything into consideration follow our guideline click here.

Now that you have your goals underway, are there any other obstacles that may hold you back

from achieving the goals you have set?  Take a good look within, and be really honest with

yourself, do you need to work on any limiting beliefs or fears?  Seek help to assist you in

overcoming these once and for all.

Life is not meant to be an easy ride, so you can expect to have hiccups along the way, what

you need to be conscious of is that you don’t get weighed down or diverted as you manoeuvre

through life.  It’s these challenges that give you the internal growth that you need to

survive, coupled with the determination to keep on going.

Nick Vujicic was born with no limbs, when you watch this clip  I am sure you will be as

amazed as I was at just how determination can be a catalyst for achieving everything you

aspire to be, do or have in your life.

I have chosen to bookmark this video clip and watch it every time I get to a stage when I

become complacent with life, when I believe that I am coasting through life and not

challenging myself to become even more successful.  I hope you will as well.

Laparoscopic Gastric Banding – My Surgery

Laparoscopic Gastric Banding – My Surgery

My preparation for surgery went really well.  I followed all dietary advice from the Dietitian and Mr Nottle.  For three weeks before the operation I replaced my meals with the liquid meal replacement recommended.  I felt fantastic and to top it all off I had lost 4 kilos over those three weeks.

You fast before any surgery.  That means you have nothing to eat or drink for a specific time.  As a general rule you will be scheduled for surgery on the morning theatre list or the afternoon theatre list and according to which list you are on will determine what time you report to hospital and subsequently what time you fast from.  For surgery on the morning list you would fast from midnight the night before.  For surgery on the afternoon list you would fast from 7am (after a very light breakfast) on the morning of your surgery.

Grief and Loss

GRIEF is a normal, natural and necessary reaction to many kinds of loss. GRIEVING is a process that restores us to wholeness.

Grieving is NOT the problem! The problem is that you have experienced loss. The loss of a family member or friend; the loss of a job; the loss of hopes or dreams, safety or security. That very real loss can shake you to your very core and turn your world literally upside down. Grieving is a normal, natural and necessary process and many people can assist you during your grieving process.

Every one of us experiences one or more “loss events” during our lifetime. To many people, the words “grief” and “grieving” are only synonymous with death. Not so! Read on…

Laparoscopic Gastric Banding – The Preparation Phase

When you have read my previous articles that lead you through my history, my choice to have Laparoscopic Gastric Banding you will gather an insight into who I am and why I made the choice.  If you haven’t read the previous articles then I encourage you to do so now before you read this, after all to make an informed decision requires you gather all the facts.

It is imperative that before you embark on any life changing experience you owe it to yourself to research options and understand fully what is associated with each option.  Keep asking questions until you are 100% comfortable with the answers.  I was lucky that I worked in a wonderful hospital and was surrounded with amazing Nursing staff and Doctors that shared all their knowledge with me, they explained in detail the operation, the complications associated with any surgery, what would happen after and so I was very well equipped to make the decision.  If truth be known by that stage it was a no brainer.

As I mentioned in a previous article when I had all the knowledge about the operation and the aftercare I was lacking one crucial piece of the puzzle.  The people who had already had Gastric Banding.  The people already in their transformational stage.  That came soon enough and then the time came to make the decision and commit 100%.

After hearing success stories and seeing the proof I noticed a mental change in my attitude, I took on a more positive aura and other’s started noticing a change in me.  My friends started watching me closely and became a serious part of my journey to the extent that they too have decided to have Gastric Banding and within the next few months I will share their amazing journey as well.
